Mrs. Ashford Is Buried Here Today

  

Mrs. Sue Leake Ashford will be buried here today at eleven o’clock at graveside services at Madison City Cemetery. Mrs. Ashford died Tuesday after a long illness.

  

A popular resident here for many years, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Leake. She taught at Madison Elementary School before moving to Atlanta. She was also a civic and social leader and was regent of the Henry Walton Chapter D. A. R.

  

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. S. Dan Smith, of Atlanta; two grandchildren, Mrs. Harvie Ward, Jr., of San Francisco, and Ashford Smith, of Atlanta, and three great grandchildren.

  

The Rev. Robert L. Taylor, pastor of the First Methodist Church, will officiate at the services. Pall bearers will include Monroe Butler, of Athens, John Newell and Paul Felker, of Monroe, James Reeves, of Gainesville, McKenzie Parker and George Shaw, of Madison.
