BURKE RICHARD BALDWIN Sr.
Westminster, S.C. – Burke Richard Baldwin, Sr., 82, husband of Suzanne “Sue” McMullen Baldwin, of 106 Bow Street, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Oconee Medical Center.
Born in Madison, he was the son of the late Carter Shepherd Baldwin, Jr., and Dorothy Richard Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin was a fine furniture builder, wood worker, and craftsman.
Survivors in addition to his wife include: sons, Burke Richard Baldwin, Jr. and wife, Sheri, of Columbia S.C., and Carter Shepherd Baldwin, III, and wife, Paula, “Bunny” of Tallahassee, Fla.; daughters, Lori Welch Baldwin of St. Monica, Calif., and Kathy Ann Crum of Crawfordville, Fla.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; nephews, Guy J. Thurmond, III and wife, Elizabeth, of Piedmont, S.C., and Richard Baldwin Thurmond of Virginia Beach, Va. Mr. Baldwin was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Graveside services will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, September 11 from Madison City Cemetery in Madison.
