Ruby Amsbaugh Ivie James, 87, of 124 Hawkins Ave. died Tuesday, March 7, 2000.

A native of Shawnee County, Kan., Mrs. James was a daughter of the late William N. and Edna Marie Downing Amsbaugh and was the widow of Fayne W. Ivie and of Ralph C. James. She was preceded in death by a son, Ramon H. Ivie.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Madison and of Eastern Star. She was a waitress at Ye Old Colonial Restaurant and East End Restaurant, both in Madison.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Madison Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Kerr officiating.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Brian Herold Ivie, Russell James Ivie and Clara Ivie Copelan; four great-grandchildren, Amber Ivie, Kristen Ivie, Erika Ivie and Jasper Copelan; nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at McCommons Funeral Home, Greensboro.
