Mrs. Thelma Jo Doremus, 86 of Madison died April 20, 2018.  She was born March 16, 1932 in Madison, to Willie and Olive Peters. She was married to William C. Doremus, Jr.  She was a member of Brookhaven Baptist Church and attended Madison Baptist.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, bingo and reading.  She truly enjoyed looking at and sharing her family photos.

Mrs. Doremus is survived by her children Doug Doremus and Marilyn, William C Doremus III and Debbie, Debbie Clayton and Albert; grandchildren Melanie Alonzo, Tina Green, Kara Dale, Harlon Doremus, Billy Doremus, Randy Green, Joey Green, Wayne Green and Deborah Green.  She is also survived by her siblings Sandra Byrd, Sammy Peters, Patricia Knight, Jeanette Stapp, Ida Webb, Donald Peters, Kenny Peters and Runae Daws. Mrs. Doremus was preceded in death by her husband, William C Doremus; daughter, Teresa Green; brothers, Billy Peters and Gerald Peters.

The family received friends on Monday, April 23 at A.E. Carter Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.  The funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 24 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Interment will follow at the Madison City Cemetery.
