BRIAN J. EVANS

Brian J. Evans, 35, died September 4, 2008, in Jackson, Miss. Born on August 11, 1973, in Sellersville, he grew up in Quakertown, graduating from Quakertown Community High School in 1991. After high school, Brian enlisted in the Navy, completed basic training in Orlando, Fla., and completed naval intelligence school in Norfolk, Va. During the course of his enlistment, he was stationed in San Diego, Calif., and Lemoore, Calif. After his honorable discharge, Brian attended Georgia Southern University, Atlantic Armstrong State University, the University of Georgia, and Savannah State University, graduating with a bachelor of science in history in 2004. Brian then received his juris doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law in 2007. After passing the Louisiana bar exam, Brian practiced criminal law in New Orleans. Brian was an avid reader, and enjoyed physical fitness and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors: Fiance, Rachel Yasbeck of New Orleans; parents, Harry and Terry Evans of Savannah, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Jennifer Evans, and nephews, Bennett and Driver Evans, all of Madison, Georgia; grandmother, Nancy Gross of Quakertown; uncles, Barry Gross of Jamison, Eric Gross of Allentown; aunts, Pam Roeder of Quakertown, Linda Strehlau of Quakertown. Services: Private services were held in Madison, Ga., on September 9, with arrangements by A.E. Carter Funeral Home, Madison.
