Sara Margaret Lancaster Bever
The St. Petersburg (FL) Times, August 21, 2011

BEVER, Margaret Lancaster 84, Tampa, passed away peacefully at home, Aug. 17, 2011, with family at her side as she entered the joy of her Savior. Sarah Margaret Lancaster Bever was born April 21, 1927, in Gainesville, GA to Arthur and Lela Lancaster. One of eight children, she delighted in her role as sister. She grew up in the beautiful town of Madison, GA. She was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women (now Georgia State College), and did graduate work in elementary education at the University of Georgia. She taught school in Monroe, GA before coming to Tampa in 1953. She taught at Stephen Foster and Gorrie Elementary Schools. A 50 year resident of Davis Islands, she was a member of the Tampa Junior League, Tampa Junior Women's Club, the Tampa Yacht and Country Club, Tampa Philharmonic Orchestra Women's League, Tampa General Hospital Auxiliary, Davis Islands Garden Club and The Chiselers. Although she had many accomplishments, her greatest devotion was to her family, where she lived out her faith in Christ through her love and support for them. Affectionately known as Mamah, she leaves a legacy of unconditional love and kindness for every life she touched. Her window sills were adorned with African violets, which she loved. Her book shelves could not hold her love of reading (particularly history). She loved wisteria, the old writers, poetry, roses, children and soft music. Her banner verse was Philippians 4:13. She will forever be adored by her children Charles C. Bever, III (Jungsun) and Mary Leacy Bever Ott; her eight grandchildren Maggie Ott Jobson (Jeremy), Hugh Justin Ott Jr., Lela Ott McCall (Arthur), Charlotte McKinely Ott, Charles Truett Ott, William Jones Ott III, Sarah Pearl Bever, and Dora Glyn Bever; and her five great-grandchildren Zoe Margaret Jobson, Matthew Pacini Jobson, Ellery Grace Jobson, Truett Lee McCall, and Joseph Wesley McCall. She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Lela Lancaster; her siblings William Arthur Lancaster, Dorothy Lancaster Hillsman, Benjamin Boyd Lancaster, and Buddy James Lancaster. She is survived by her beloved siblings Charles Lancaster, Patricia Lancaster Stinchcomb, and Troy Lancaster; her dearly loved sisters-in-law Shirley Lancaster and Glenda Lancaster and many nieces and nephews. As were her wishes, there will be a family graveside service at the Historic Madison Cemetery, Madison, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Lifepath Hospice. And as we go through this life, we will always remember Mamah telling us in the words of Winston Churchill, "Never, never, never, never, NEVER give up!" You are our Sunshine Mamah, your love lives on in us. Please sign online guestbook at www.BlountCurryMacDill.com
