Arthur Gordon Hendrix, 75, of 111 Roosevelt Blvd., Commerce, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at his residence.

He was born April 3, 1930 in Jackson County, the son of Mamie Bearden Hemperley and the late Roy Hendrix. He was a retired elementary school teacher and was a member of Willow Springs Church.

He is survived by his mother, Mamie Hendrix Hemperley of Commerce, two sons, Thomas Hendrix of Loganville and Tim Hendrix of Rutledge, two brothers, Jimmy Hendrix of Madison and Paul Hendrix of Columbia, S.C., and five grandchildren.

Graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at Madison City Cemetery with the Rev. J. C. Studdard officiating.

Little-Ward Funeral Home of Commerce was in charge of arrangements.
