Jesse DeWitt Knight, Jr. 84 of Madison, died at his home on December 11, 2018. Mr. Knight was a native of Lake Butler, Fla. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He served in the Korean War.

He was retired as a forester, having worked for International Paper Company and Evergreen. Mr. Knight was a member of Madison First United Methodist Church. He loved his farm and his cows. He enjoyed watching hummingbirds feed and seeing ducks on his pond.

DeWitt Knight is survived by his wife Gussie and their children, Donna Conner and Bruce, Bill Knight and Deanna Knight Nunn and David. His grandchildren are Emily Nowlen and Randy, Allen Conner and Peyton Nunn. DeWitt and Gussie were married for 62 years
