Sarah Eaton Rozar, age 77, of Eatonton, Georgia, died Sunday, May 26, 2013, concluding a heroic 50-year battle with diabetes.

Born in Madison, Georgia on August 16, 1935 to the late Homer Lee Eaton and the late Ruby Gra- ham Eaton, Sarah was the fourth of 10 children to grow up in Morgan County.

She attended Berry College in Rome, Georgia, where she met and married her beloved husband, Melvin Rozar of Chester, Georgia, on August 16, 1959.

After a brief period of teaching in Dodge County, Georgia, Sarah relocated to Decatur, Georgia. Sarah earned a Masters in English Education at Peabody Vanderbilt, and subsequently a six-year Educational Specialist degree in Counseling from Auburn University. Her 30-year career in teaching and counseling was largely devoted to Clarkston High School in DeKalb County, Georgia. There she distinguished herself in service as an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma, the Georgia School Counseling Association; and as president of the DeKalb Association of Educators.

When she was not involved in service to school, she served as a Sunday school teacher, deacon and elder of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia. After retiring in 1992, Sarah moved to Eatonton Georgia. It was there she enjoyed family visits from her daughter, her husband, and their two children, her son and his wife, and their children, as well as frequent visits from extended family and friends.

She is predeceased by her brothers: Emory Eaton, Verner Lee Eaton, and Bruce Eaton.

Sarah was interred at the Madison City Cemetery on May 29, following a service at A. E. Carter Funeral Home.
