On November 28, 1955 Walter and Annie Lu Reid gave birth to Walter Craig Reid. Lovingly known as Craig, he transitioned from this life on June 6, 2020 surrounded by his family.

Growing up in Bridgeton, New Jersey as the only son with his three sisters Pam, Sybil, and Tracie. He was a self starter with a big heart for caring for others. As a young boy he started his first business cutting grass to make money to help his family. He grew his mechanic skills fixing cars with his dad as a hobby; which turned into an automotive business that his father ran until his passing in 2005.

Craig graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1974. After high school, he attended Cumberland County College where he started a Black Student Union in hopes to open up more opportunities for minorities in his school. After receiving his Associates Degree, he decided to move to Atlanta with the pursuit for a better life.

In 1982 he married Linda Bristow-Reid, and through this union they raised 3 children - Lelene Michelle Reid (Gainey), Michael Evans Reid, and Lauren Carin Reid.

During the first years of his young family’s life Craig worked for Georgia Power while attending Georgia Southern Polytechnic University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. After 10 years at Georgia Power, Craig became an entrepreneur and started WCR Enterprises, a general contracting firm. Over the years he dedicated his life to the service of others by building homes, carpentry work, and countless remodeling projects for clients, friends and family.

Spending majority of his day helping others he found time for himself in his hobbies. Bowling was a unique talent Craig enjoyed and traveled participating in tournaments around the country. Among the several 300 perfect score rings, he won countless trophies and awards as a testament to his bowling skills.

Along with work and bowling, the most important thing to Craig was his family. He encouraged everyone to strive for excellence! He was always there to lend a helping hand to assist those who were in need.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Annie.

Craig leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Lelene, daughter, Michael, son, Lauren, daughter; Dewayne, Son-in-Law; Crystal, Daughter-in-Law; grandchildren Kristen, Chrisyia, Kamryn, Dewayne, Michael Craig; sisters Rosa, Pam, Sybil, Tracie, two nieces, 6 nephews, and a tribe of family, and friends.
