The Rev. Edward Geneva Stewart, 79, of Highway 22 died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997.

A native of Crawfordville, the Rev. Stewart was a son of the late William Edward and Susan Catherine Allen Stewart. He was a retired minister of Berean Baptist Church in Eatonton and a member of Colliers Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home East, Athens, with the Revs. Terry Smith and Ray Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife, Cornelia P. Stewart; two daughters, Marinell Hettrick, Athens, and Susan Williams, Hull; two sons, William Stewart, Monticello, and David Stewart, Lakeland; two stepdaughters, Sheila Kelley, Comer, and Jane Bowen, Athens; a stepson, Johnny Wilburn, Commerce; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
