Joe Boyd Sims, 83 of Madison, died March 25, 2016. He was born in Banks County on March 3, 1933 to Henry and Julie Sims. He was married to Pauline Sims on March 6, 1954.

Mr. Sims hauled milk for a while and later managed the Neal Farm. He also worked at the furniture plant and after retiring was a currier for Regions Bank. Mr. Sims loved his family. He enjoyed playing family card games, going to yard sales and weekend trips with his family. His family will remember him for being a man of his word.

Joe Boyd Sims is survived by his wife, Pauline Sims and a son, Henry Lee Sims and Becky, a grandson, Lee Sims and Laurin and two great grandsons, Wyatt and Grayson Sims. Mr. Sims is survived by siblings, Delrea Nunn, Ralph Sims, Carl Sims, Sue Gilstrap and Toy Sims.

He was preceded in death by Howard Sims and Roy Sims, Sr.

The family received friends on Monday from 6-8 p.m. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, March 29 at 11 a.m. at Madison City Cemetery.
