Shirley Ann Massey Self, 81 of Madison, passed away on January 29, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Self was born January 14, 1937 in Royston, to George T. Massey and Willie Mae Shackleford Massey. Mrs. Self was a member of First United Methodist Church of Madison.

Mrs. Self is survived by her children, Kaye Beal and Robert, Kenneth Beal and Theresa, Sandra Self and Marilyn Self. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and her siblings Robert W. Massey, Jessie B. Frills and Richard Massey and Vicky. Mrs. Self was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Self and a granddaughter, Sezshena Beal.

The family received friends at A.E. Carter Funeral Home on February 1 from 6 until 8 p.m. Her funeral service was held on Friday, February 2, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of A.E. Carter Funeral Home. Interment followed at Madison City Cemetery.
