Thomas "Tom" Scott Senft

Thomas (Tom) Scott Senft, 49 of Glen Burnie, MD died December 17, 2014.

Tom was the son of Judy and Bob Senft of Madison. Born in St. Paul, MN on April 26, 1965, he moved with his family to Atlanta in 1976. A graduate of Georgia State University with a degree in Marketing, he joined Mohawk Industries as a territory marketing manager in Glen Burnie, MD.

Tom was an outdoorsman who loved canoeing, kayaking and biking. Photography was a special hobby.

Bill Ritinski, Mohawk vice president of sales, sent the following: “In Tom’s memory, we have created a service award that annually recognizes dedication and exceptional efforts in customer service. The award is open not only to those in sales but to local customer service and logistics/drivers as well. When news of Tom’s passing filtered through our organization, the true gift of touching others that Tom had, became apparent. You see, Tom not only engaged with our sales group, he also was extremely popular and well thought of within our warehouse, driver and customer service co-workers. So many of them came forward to talk about Tom, it was simply amazing. The Tom Senft “Broad Shoulders” Excellence In Service Award will be given annually to those in our organization who display the qualities that Tom exhibited every day. We miss our friend and grieve with all his family and friends.”

Tom is survived by his parents, a brother, David and his wife Nancy and nieces Allison and Katie of Marietta, GA. Also surviving is his paternal grandmother, Hazel I. Senft of Vinton, IA.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Madison First United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Madison First United Methodist Church directed to the Intercessory Prayer Ministry.
