Ollie Mae Hawk Tamplin of Madison was surrounded by her family at her death on March 10, 2018. She was born on May 15, 1925 to Thomas Oscar Hawk and Bessie Leona Adcock Hawk.

Mrs. Tamplin was retired from The Morgan County Board of Education where she served as a teacher's aid. She also was a billing clerk with McDowell's Grocery before working with the school system. Mrs. Tamplin enjoyed spending time with her family, church friends, gardening and flowers. She also loved her cat, Fluffy. Mrs. Tamplin was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Mrs. Tamplin is survived by her children Bruce Tamplin, Barbara Tamplin and Doug Tamplin (Leslie). She is also survived by her two grandchildren Johnny Tamplin and Tracy Tamplin. Mrs. Tamplin was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Tamplin.

The family will receive friends Tuesday morning March 13, 2018 from 9:00 - 11:00am at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00am in the chapel of A.E. Carter Funeral Home with Reverend Don Malcom officiating. Interment will be held at the Madison City Cemetery.
