Howard Rogers Youngblood

Mr. Howard Rogers Youngblood, 93 of Madison died June 15, 2020. He was the son of the late James Howard and Hulda Minish Youngblood. He was born on May 2, 1927 in Banks County, GA.

At age seventeen, Mr. Youngblood entered the Merchant Marines and served as a seaman for two years. IN 1946, he returned to Morgan County and began his career with the Georgia State Highway Department. He retired in 1978. During this time, he helped with the design and building of Interstate-20 from Atlanta to Augusta. In 1953, Mr. Youngblood began milking cows and operated a dairy until 2009. He served as Director of the Morgan County Farm Bureau, he was a member of the Dairy Association from 1953-2009. Mr. Youngblood served as Director on the Board of Georgia Dairyman from 1979-1994. He was also a director on the American Dairy Association from 1978-1994. He was a member of the DHIA board from 1986-1992.

Mr. Youngblood was married to the late Mary Elizabeth Morris Youngblood. He is survived by one daughter, Christine Long and her husband, Ronnie. He also leaves one granddaughter, Lisa Hawkins and her husband, Dusty. Great grandsons are John Dustin Hawkins (Alexis) and Dawson Hawkins. He also leaves a brother, Johnny Youngblood and a sister, Betty Tarpley. Mr. Youngblood is preceded in death by siblings, Otis Youngblood, Jack Youngblood, Mary Sue Youngblood, Bobby Joe Youngblood and Jimmy Youngblood.

A memorial service will be held at A.E. Carter Funeral Home on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 11am.
