Judith Lucile Russ Young

Judith Lucile Young of Lake Oconee, Georgia, age 72, passed away June 4, 2012.

Judi was the wife of Roger W. Young, and the daughter of Fred and Thelma Russ of Miami, Florida. Survivors include her daughter, Tracy Wagner of Eatonton, Georgia; her sister, Nancy Newbern of Atlanta, Georgia; her step-son Dr. Hays Young; her grandchildren Blake Wagner, Nicole Wagner and Sebastian Young; and her nephews Russell Sklenka and Brian Shively.

She was born in Miami, Florida and graduated from Coral Gables Senior High School. Judi lived an active and varied life including work as an executive assistant in several public accounting firms. She enjoyed golf and gardening, but it was cooking that was her first love. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.

Judi qualified as a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Society of Ancient Planters and took great pride in her relationship to the King of England, George VI and other figures from English and Scottish history.

The family will be receiving family and friends Wednesday, June 6th, at 7:00 p.m. at the McCommons Funeral Home in Greensboro, Georgia. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 7th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of the Redeemer in Greensboro with interment and a graveside service to follow at the Madison Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Central Avenue, Madison, Georgia.
