Linda Autry Penn, 73 of Rutledge, died November 21, 2017. Mrs. Penn was the daughter of the late William Herbert Autry, Sr and Mary Elizabeth Armistead Autry. She was born in Rutledge on April 11, 1944.

 

She was married to Gerald Penn. Mrs. Penn retired from the City of Madison where she worked as a clerk. She loved gardening and decorating. Mrs. Penn also enjoyed shopping but most loved her family and helping others through her work.

 

Mrs. Penn is survived by her husband, Gerald and children, Stafanie Houser and Ron, Melanie Brigham and Gerry Penn and Jill. Mrs. Penn’s grandchildren are Amanda and Kris Holt, Malcom Nunn, Dawson Houser, Scott and Brooke Patton, Trevor Patton and Lauren Griffin and Wyatt Penn. Her great grandchildren are Karley, Aubrey and Gavin Holt, Wyatt, Kylie and MaciCait Patton. Mrs. Penn’s siblings are Mable Campbell (Carter, late), David Autry (Judy), William Herbert Autry, Jr (Vicki), Steve Autry (Ouida), Timmy Autry (Patricia) and Bobby Autry.

The family received friends on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service was held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Interment followed at the Madison City Cemetery.
