ANNIE LU MURRAY REID

December 22, 1934 - October 20, 2018  Annie L. Reid was the 6th born child of the late Harold and Sarah Murray in Madison, GA. She was united in marriage to Walter Reid in which they had four children. After the birth of 2 of their children they relocated from Atlanta, GA to Bridgeton, NJ where she believed GOD spoke to her to make Bridgeton her permanent home.

Annie was raised in a Godly home and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Madison, GA as a child. After moving to New Jersey, she recommitted her life to Christ at age 28. One year later she was invited to study under Reverend Dr. Harold Jamison in Philadelphia, PA. She became an Ordained and Licensed Minister in 1971 after completing the W.D. Grant Ministry Program in Dallas, TX.

 

Founder and Pastor of the Gospel Star Church for over 25 years, began with her mandate from GOD to seek souls for the Kingdom of GOD. Starting with her children she made it very clear it was her life’s purpose to raise her children to serve GOD. Pastor Reid continued her evangelism through her children friends, neighbors, speaking engagements, radio and all who would listen.

In 1986, Pastor Annie L. Reid began studying with Morris Cerullo Ministries where she received her certification in Evangelism with a specialty in Intercessory Prayer. She was the first female Minister member of the Bridgeton Christian Ministry Association (formerly the Black Clergy). Pastor Annie L. Reid was awarded Fairfield Township’s “Unity in the Community” Award for her Ministry’s dedication for community service.

She leaves to cherish her memories 3 daughters: Pamela White (Willie) of Bridgeton, NJ; Syble Smith (Paul) of Lithonia, GA and M. Tracie Washington of Lithonia, GA son Walter C. Reid (Pamela) of Lithonia, GA born from union with Walter Reid; her 2 adopted sons Michael Banks Reid (Jennifer) of Mays Landing, NJ and Corey Banks of Millville, NJ: 3 brothers Alvin Murray (Rene), Bronx, NY, Floyd Murray (Sherily) of Chicago, IL, Rosby Murray of Stone Mountain, GA,; 4 sisters, Mary Herndon of Decatur, GA, Doris Booker & Wauline DeBaptiste both of Madison, GA and Brenda Swint (Eugene) of Charlotte, NC; 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Special acknowledgement to her spiritual children: Yvonne Still, Essie Smith, Kathy Speight, Sally Ann Robinson-Willis and Albert Porter.
