CARL BERNHART SPELBRINK

Carl Bernhard Spelbrink, 66 of Madison, formerly of Sulphur, LA left to be with his Lord on October 8, 2011. 

 

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Heather Lynne Spelbrink. 

 

He is survived by his wife, Jan Phelps Spelbrink, one son, Grant Bernhard Spelbrink  and his fiance, Allison of South Hill, VA, one sister, Suzanne & Tom Abernathy of Cornelius, NC and one cousin, Linda & Michael Gillen of Christiansburg, VA.  He also is survived by 13 nieces and nephews. 

 

Carl was born in Oswego, NY and lived in Rochester, NY until leaving for college.  After graduating from North Carolina State University with a degree in civil engineering, he moved to Lake Charles, LA where he met and married his wife Jan.  He was employed by PPG for 31 years. 

 

Upon retirement from PPG as project manager, he and Jan moved to Madison, GA  Carl is a member of Madison First United Methodist Church. 

 

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 10, 2011 from 6 until 8 pm at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 11 at 1 pm.  The service will be held at Madison First United Methodist, officiated by Dr. Grady Moseley.  A.E. Carter Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
